The Never-Say-Die Attitude of Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin: Something NAACP Members Should Emulate

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are simply irresistible. As a woman, these are the type of men I will love to spend the rest of my life with. These men went to bed after a hectic day’s work, in the company of their wives, sons and daughters, only for some uniform men to force-opened their doors in the middle of the night, molested and moved them out eventually incarcerating them for crimes they never committed. Learn more about Jim Larkin:

They were only doing their job as journalists by bringing to the attention of relevant authorities some grand illegal and unconstitutionally jury proceedings as cover-up for County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. These gentle men refused to be intimidated by the towering status of the County and took the case to the United State Court of Appeal demanding $3.75 for the maltreatment melted on them. The outcome of the case turned in their favor including the monetary demand.

Many people thought these gentlemen were out for the cash alone. The aftermath of the case proved otherwise. Lacy and Jim Larkin are true civil right fighters. They have since dedicated the money to assisting civil right groups across Arizona. What an attitude! They love to see many more atrocities against civil liberty exposed and the perpetrators punished.

It is understood that the County Sheriff Joe Arpaio saga is only one out of hundreds of others yet to be exposed. Though Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin have already made a name for themselves years back when they co-founded Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media, their show of resilience and magnanimity in the above case will immortalize their names.

We, including all the members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), can keep singing the praise of these men from year to year. That will do little or no positive to us if we refuse to emulate their attitudes. These are men that can go to any length to expose the wickedness of the wicked in order to liberate those in the captivity of the wicked.

Of course, they knew beforehand that the price for such will never be cheap as it eventually turned out to be, yet they went ahead. Many colored people in and out of the United States are deprived, molested and denied what rightly belong to them; only NAACP member with a never-die-spirit can help fulfill the aims and objectives of the organization. Learn more about Jim Larkin:

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is one of the few functioning organizations in the forefront of seeking justice and fair-play for colored people all over the world.

The deprivation, discrimination and injustice against colored people keep resurfacing from time to time even in so-called civilized societies. There is hardly any sphere of human endeavor without a trace of injustice against colored people. However, we at NAACP believe that equality of rights for both colored and non-colored people is a possibility if every concerned individual extend a helping hand.
